Embracing Growth: A Week of Learning, Creation, and Halloween Fun

This past week has been a wonderful blend of personal growth, professional development, and family moments. From peaceful countryside explorations to diving deep into the world of AI and digital education, every day brought something new to appreciate.  A Peaceful Start in Crieff Our weekend began with a delightful Friday excursion to Crieff, where we spent time wandering through the charming streets, admiring the local architecture. There's something special about Scottish town houses that always catches the eye. We treated ourselves to a cozy lunch of soup and sandwiches, topped off with a slice of cake – sometimes the simplest meals are the most satisfying. The Journey of Renovating Our Home: Lessons, Challenges, and a Beautiful Bathroom

Image
Refurbishing a home is one of those projects that you think will be simple at first, but it quickly becomes a whole journey of its own. When we started, we had no idea how many steps and decisions would be involved. From figuring out what actually needs to be fixed, to finding the right people for the job, to managing the constant stop-and-start of work—there’s a lot more to it than I ever imagined. How do you even begin to prioritize? For us, the bathroom was the clear winner. We use it every day, and it was in serious need of a refresh. I didn’t realize at first just how much of a difference fixing up one...

Introduction: It’s a strange feeling when your child heads off on their first solo adventure, isn’t it? My son has been in Germany for the past week—his first time abroad without me. It’s been quite a challenge, both for him and for me. On the one hand, I’m so proud of his independence and the experiences he’s having. But on the other, the house feels emptier than I ever imagined, and I find myself adjusting to a new kind of loneliness. I never thought I’d feel this way over just a week apart, yet here I am, counting down the days until he’s back home. The First Trip Abroad Seeing him off at the airport was a moment I’d been anticipating for weeks. I knew this trip would be a milestone for him—his first time navigating a new country and culture all on his own. As the plane took off, pride filled me, thinking about the independence he was gaining. But once I returned home, the silence set in. His usual chatter, his presence in the house—it all felt suddenly distant. It was just a ...
